Incorporated in Malaysia in 1974. Watta (Watta Battery Industries Sdn Bhd) and Leko (Syarikat Perniagaan Leko Sdn Bhd) started its operations in manfacturing plates and components for the reconditioning of automobile batteries and distribution of automotive batteries. In 1976 and with steady growth and expansion of producton capacity Watta has embarked on design, manufacture and distributions of its automotive batteries for vehicles.

In 2007 Watta has ceased it manufacturing division and focus mainly in Trading. Today Watta's leading brands are WATTA, LEKO, BACO and WIRA of which have established reputation for high performance in power and durability in use in the local replacement market, OEM and as well as in the oversea.
